Hi Everyone!

I am here to introduce you, my fans, to my brand new official web site. I'll admit, I'm pretty excited about this and have decided to dedicate the site to the people, who have, since the beginning, supported me and my career. Thanks to your tremendous encouragement, stemming back to my days in Sweden, I have been able to achieve my goal of playing in the NHL. It's still hard for me to believe I'm playing for the Detroit Redwings. Without question, it's your support, and the support of my family, that have carried me this far.

Now that we've found a way to connect, I'll be able to share what it's like playing for the Wings, beginning with my sophomore season, and also the experience of growing as a player and helping the team strive toward another post-season appearance, and hopefully the Stanley Cup.

But, it won't stop there. Throughout the season, it will be my goal to help you learn more about life on the ice, discover the differences between North American and Swedish hockey, what my life was like back home in Sweden, and also catch you up on my passions away from the ice.

I feel very fortunate to do what I love for a living and often thought of my rookie season as a dream come true. Though I'm proud of the way I played, there's always room for improvement. I also realize I would not have found my scoring touch without the help of two incredible linemates, Brett Hull and Pavel Datsyuk, and a remarkable team filled with many gifted players. I'm sure you would agree it's much easier to do well when you are surrounded by that kind of talent.

Anyway, because I'm still pretty young, I have a lot to learn about Detroit and am slowly getting used to life in the US. But, in a way, that might make for some interesting stories - ha-ha. In any event, there's a lot to look forward to, both on and off the ice, which is why I promise to touch base with my helpful writer, Marcie, on a regular basis, and let you share in some of these experiences.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm thrilled you took the time.

Talk with you soon,
Henrik Zetterberg
